Jewish Observance
Israel Challenge is an ideological Jewish/Zionist non-profit organization. With regard to the religious affiliation we are by definition a pluralist organization. We base our program on a respect and be respected theme. We do not organize activities on Shabbat or create a situation where Shabbat could be interrupted in any way. But we provide the complete liberty to our participants to fulfill their religious experience in their own way. All of the food provided by Israel Challenge is Kosher.
Israel Challenge offers each and every participant the possibility to fulfill his/her religious level to the extent intended by the participant, in no way do we advance the interest of any of the religious currents specifically.
The exception to this rule is in Yom Kippur, where due to the delicate situation of the area in which it takes place and the respect enforced by the accommodation site, all participants are requested to keep Yom Kippur by fasting. For those participants who are not interested in fasting on Yom Kippur, alternative accommodations will be provided.
