Medical Insurance

Harel is the insurance company provided by the Organizers of the “Israel Challenge” (see annex Insurance – Coverage and Insurances).

Each participant is required to fill out a medical statement prior to his/her departure from their home country. Failure to do so will nullify his/her participation in the program.

The insurance policy will be canceled if the form is fallacious in anyway. The Organizers of “Israel Challenge” reserve the right to cancel anyone’s participation if his/her medical form is discovered to be misleading or deceptive in any way.

In the event of a medical problem, past or present declared in the insurance form, a letter from the family doctor must accompany the application explaining the nature of medical condition.

If the Participant has any past medical history, the insurance company withholds the right to require an addendum to the policy. This may cause an increase in the cost of the policy which must be paid by the Participant.

If any participant feels the need to purchase additional insurance to cover his/her personal belongings it must be done prior to their arrival to the program.

Israel Challenge is not liable for any damaged and / or stolen and / or lost items during the program. This includes cash. We offer a Safe Box service at our offices.

Each participant taking part in the program is required to pass a medical examination by their family physician and must present a form confirming their health status. The form must be signed by the examining physician. The physician must indicate the major events in medical history of the examinee.

Each participant taking part in the program is required to pass a psychological examination given by a certified clinical psychologist. The psychologist must submit a form indicating the results of the examination and confirm the Participants emotional and mental ability to participate in the program.  This form must be signed with approved seals by the psychologist. All information is confidential and shall be stored in the safe box of the institution.

Each participant who is interested in participating or may become interested in participating in the program of Magen David Adom is required to be vaccinated against hepatitis B.  The vaccine is given in two stages with a month of separation between them.  Each participant is required to submit in Israel a proof that he/she has had at least 3 vaccinations, it can be two vaccine shots plus a booster vaccine prior to travel.
